UNLV To Slash Athletics Budget

UNLV athletics is having to do with less, much less, for next season. $1.8 million less. That's how much the state is cutting from the UNLV athletics budget for 2009-2010.

Each sports operating budget will be decreased by 10-12%. Things like cell phones, equipment purchases and charter flights will be slashed....but how about this....the university is also cutting out media meals at sporting events to save $5,000. Are you kidding me? No more feeding the media? Now we know the recession is getting as serious as can be. Actually, good call on that one, UNLV....we'll grab In N' Out Burger on the way to the game.
